Starlight headliner Warsaw - starry sky installation case study

The client arrived with a Porsche Cayman and a clear goal: a starlight headliner that looks like factory Premium Selection equipment, not aftermarket. The key requirement was preserving the interior aesthetics completely – no visible wiring, no compromises in the upholstery.

During the consultation we settled on 1200 fiber strands and two shooting stars (comets) cycling through the headliner at intervals. The headliner fabric colour was matched to the original interior trim.

The installation took 3 business days. After removing the headliner, we carefully pierced the mat and routed each fiber strand by hand, one by one. The LED projector was placed inside the rear bulkhead where it remains invisible.

The scene configuration was set so the headliner behaves like a real sky – subtle twinkling, adjustable brightness and an option to disable animations for daily commuting. The comets were configured in night mode with a 90-second interval.

The biggest technical challenge was the Porsche Cayman's curved headliner shape, which has multiple layers of acoustic insulation. This required precise mat preparation so every fiber strand sits evenly without tension.

The client received a 1200-star starlight headliner with two shooting stars, adjustable brightness and full aesthetic integration with the interior. The result looks like factory-installed equipment – the client rated it better than expected.

The build was handed over the same day following a brief tutorial on the remote and app. 12-month warranty on installation and the light system.
